Programme Overview:
The Diploma in Information Technology is a comprehensive two-year program that provides students with a strong foundation in information technology principles and practical skills. The program covers a wide range of topics, allowing students to develop expertise in various areas of information technology.
In the program’s first year, students will focus on building a strong foundation in information technology. They will learn about operating systems and system administration, web application development, data structures and algorithms, and computer architecture and organization. These courses provide essential knowledge and skills for understanding and managing computer systems, developing web applications, implementing efficient data structures, and understanding the organization of computer systems.
Moving into the second year, students will delve deeper into specialized areas of information technology. They will study network administration and security, software engineering principles, database design and implementation, and mobile application development. These courses will enhance their understanding of managing and securing computer networks, applying software engineering principles in software development, designing and implementing databases, and developing mobile applications. The program also covers advanced topics such as advanced data analytics and visualization, business process automation, IT governance and compliance, and user experience design. These courses explore advanced techniques in analyzing and visualizing data, automating business processes, ensuring IT governance and compliance, and designing user-friendly interfaces.
In the final trimester, students will focus on information systems audit and assurance, enterprise resource planning systems, cloud infrastructure management, and IT project governance and control. These courses provide insights into auditing and assuring information systems, implementing enterprise resource planning systems, managing cloud infrastructure, and effectively governing IT projects.
The program’s second year further enhances students’ knowledge and skills in information technology. They will study enterprise architecture and integration, IT change management and transition, IT leadership and team management, and undertake an IT capstone project. These courses allow students to delve deeper into specialized areas and apply their knowledge and skills to real-world projects.
Upon completing the Diploma in Information Technology, students will have acquired a comprehensive set of skills and knowledge in information technology. They will be equipped to work as IT professionals in various roles, such as software engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, and network administrators, or pursue further studies in the field.
