Duration: 24 months
Entry requirements:
Minimum of 5 Ordinary Level subjects including Mathematics and English or
Certificate in Cyber Security
Course Overview:
The Diploma in Cyber Security is a comprehensive two-year program designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to protect digital assets and effectively manage cybersecurity risks. The program is structured over eight trimesters and covers a wide range of cybersecurity domains.
In the first year, students will begin with Cybersecurity Fundamentals, learning about threats, vulnerabilities, and the principles of information security. They will then delve into Operating System Security, Network Defense Techniques, and Secure Coding Practices, gaining the ability to secure various operating systems and implement effective network security measures.
The second trimester focuses on Advanced Cryptography, Security Incident Response and Management, Web Application Security, and Cyber Threat Intelligence. Students will develop expertise in applying advanced cryptographic algorithms and protocols, responding to and managing security incidents, and utilizing threat intelligence to enhance an organization’s cybersecurity posture.
The third trimester covers Vulnerability Assessment and Management, Cloud Security Architecture, Mobile Device Security, and Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering. Here, students will learn to identify, assess, and manage vulnerabilities, design and implement secure cloud computing environments, and analyze and mitigate complex malware threats.
In the fourth trimester, the curriculum shifts to Security Audit and Compliance, Cybersecurity Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Advanced Persistent Threats, and Blockchain Security. Students will explore the principles and techniques of security auditing, assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks, and understand the security considerations for blockchain-based systems.
The second year of the program delves deeper into Cybersecurity Governance and Strategy, Digital Forensics for Cloud Environments, Legal and Ethical Issues in Cybersecurity, and a Cybersecurity Capstone Project. Students will learn to develop and implement effective cybersecurity governance and strategic frameworks, conduct digital forensic investigations in cloud computing environments, and explore the legal and ethical considerations in the field of cybersecurity.
The Diploma in Cyber Security program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity concepts, techniques, and best practices, enabling them to become skilled professionals in the rapidly evolving field of information security.
